Best Ever Steak Mushrooms
In my eyes mushrooms on a steak can make or break it.
Personally, I LOVE THEM but they have to be done right. I've tried a lot of things but this is the best I've tasted! My secret ingredient comes from Auntie Cat!
Here's my favourite tried and true recipe
Steak Mushrooms
1 lb button mushrooms
2 - 3 Tbls butter
1 - 2 tsp olive oil
6 cloves of garlic, finely diced
2 tsp Worcestershire *Secret ingredient to the best mushrooms!!!
salt and pepper to taste (heavy on the pepper)
1. Chop all the mushrooms into thin slices
2. Heat the butter and oil in a pan on medium high heat - add mushrooms.
3. Cook mushrooms until most of the moisture has been cooked out (about 10 minutes). Turn down to medium low heat
4. Add garlic, worcestershire, salt and pepper and cook for 1 minute.
5. Cook for another 5-20** minutes on low heat.
**I have put in such a large time frame because you can leave these mushrooms just heating through for quite awhile. In my dinner prep I usually do the mushrooms first, then cook the sides and the steak. This gives them time to really soak up the garlicky goodness and it gives you time to get everything else done.
Enjoy! and certainly let me know what you think once you've tried them!
