Burgers!

Dan, This one's for you!
I received a tweet over the weekend, from Dan, asking about a good burger recipe. This excited me since I LOVE making burgers. They're tasty, easy and fun to add new flavours too!
Here's a couple of recipes I regularly make.

Beef Burgers
1lb Ground beef (not extra lean - that'll make dry burgers)
1 egg
1 medium diced onion
1 handful (approx 1/2 c) breadcrumbs (or crushed rice crispies)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 teaspoon curry powder (optional)
1 tablespoon yellow mustard (grainy and Dijon can be used as well)
2 tablespoons ketchup

Place all ingredients in a bowl and gently mix together. Be sure you don't pack the meat down when you're mixing - it will cause for tough, hard burgers.
When everything is mixed, separate into 5-6 once burgers, or any size you prefer.
Cook at Medium heat for 6-7 minutes/side or until the inside temp reads 160 F.

Add your delicious burgers to a bun and top with all your favourite sides. I sometimes love to put coleslaw on my burgers. It adds a nice cruchy touch.

Pork Hawaiian Burgers
1 lb ground Pork
1 egg
3 diced green onions
1 tablespoon grated ginger (about a 1 inch thumb sized piece)
1 grated carrot
1 handful (approx 1/2 c) breadcrumbs (or crushed rice crispies)
8 drops of Hot sauce (more or less depending on taste)
Rings of pineapple (either canned or fresh works)

Place all ingredients, except pineapple, in a bowl and gently mix together. Be sure you don't pack the meat down when you're mixing - it will cause for tough, hard burgers.
When everything is mixed, separate into 5-6 once burgers, or any size you prefer.
Cook at Medium heat for 6-7 minutes/side or until the inside temp reads 160 F.

Add your delicious burgers to a bun and top with pineapple and your favourite condiments.
