Easy sauces and Dip - and better than any jar!
Sauces... This could be very hard for me to put into words and measurements since most, if not all of my sauces and dips are by eye, flavour or look on amounts (which are not set).
I will do my best to describe in detail the amounts, colours, flavours and measurements to what I would make.
I assure you these are very tasty and a good addition to most meals with things that are dippable.
My favourite sauces to make are probably honeydill and garlic aeoli. The aeoli is remarkably good on steak and fries!
If there are any other sauces or dips that you would like to know how to make, please comment on the post and I'll put up a recipe for them :)
Happy saucing!
Honeydill
enough for a chicken finger dinner for 4
Ingredients
- Mayo (NOT MIRACLE WHIP, blechh)
- dill
- honey
Directions
Place 2 heaping tablespoon of mayo in a bowl.
Sprinkle on about 3/4t - 1t dried dill or 2 tsp fresh.
Add in approx 2 level tablespoon of honey.
Mix together. The mixture should turn from very opaque and mayo-ie to slightly shiny and translucent. If you're sauce is still complete opaque and looks like dill and mayo - add more honey.
And of course TASTE IT! If you want it sweeter or more honey-ish, add more honey. If you want to taste more mayo, add more mayo.
This is better than any jar you can find.
Ok, this one is quick because it's what I call a cheater recipe. By that, I mean I'm using store bought Olive Oil Mayo - this is quicker and makes Garlic Aeoli a breeze to whip up.
Garlic Aeoli
1/4 c Olive Oil Mayo
1/2 cloved of garlic (smashed, grated or super finely diced)
1 t lemon juice
Mix everything together in a small bowl. season with salt and pepper if needed.
Great with fries, on burgers, sandwiches, vegetables, ok basically good for everything :)
