Yummy Baked Salmon
So today at lunch, while sitting around munching on my
lunch, the topic of blogs came up. I was then reminded that I really hadn’t put
anything up on mine for a VERY long time. This is true. So I’m going to rectify
this situation and put up one of my favourite recipes; also one that we make at
least once a week in our house. It’s healthy, SUPER tasty and very simple. I also got the idea because a co-worker was
looking for an easy salmon recipe J
Thanks for the idea!
The recipe can be used on any sturdy fish. By sturdy, I mean
something, like salmon, that can hold up to flavour. We tend to use trout most of the time but, as
mentioned, salmon works great, halibut would possibly work and basa would do the
trick too.
Here is the recipe for my YUMMY Sweet and Salty Baked fish.
Sweet and Salty Baked Fish
Ingredients
·
¼ cup soy sauce
·
2 T Brown Sugar
·
¼ t ground ginger or 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
·
2 t grainy mustard (not Dijon but grainy)
·
1 T orange juice (optional)
Directions
1.
Preheat oven to 375⁰F
2.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl
3.
Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper
(this will make for easy cleanup. If you don’t have parchment paper tinfoil
will work as well, just make sure to lightly coat with oil)
4.
Place fish fillet on the parchment and pour over
the sauce. Leave for 5 -10 minutes for better flavour.
5.
Bake for approx 20 minutes or until desired
doneness.
a.
My test is either to take a fork and stick it into
the largest part of the fish; If it’s starting to flake it’s done, OR, use a
thermometer! Fish needs/should have an internal temperature between 135⁰F – 140⁰F
when it’s done. So cook the fish until it’s at
130⁰F and let it sit for 5 minutes to rest and come up to temp.
6.
Cut up into smaller pieces and serve. We like to
have this with rice and some steamed veggies but serve it however you like it
I hope you end up enjoying this recipe as much as we do in
my house!
It's ABOUT TIME Kristina!!! : )
